Scripture for Meditation

Rev 2:2-5

(2)  I know what you have done-how hard you have worked and how you have endured. I also know that you cannot tolerate wicked people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not apostles. You have discovered that they are liars.

(3)  You have endured, suffered trouble because of my name, and have not grown weary.

(4)  However, I have this against you: The love you had at first is gone.

(5)  Remember how far you have fallen. Return to me and change the way you think and act, and do what you did at first. I will come to you and take your lamp stand from its place if you don’t change.

Joh 3:16-18(16)  God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.

(17)  God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world.

(18)  Those who believe in him won’t be condemned. But those who don’t believe are already condemned because they don’t believe in God’s only Son.

1Jn 4:10

(10)  This is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the payment for our sins.

1Jn 4:19

(19)  We love because God loved us first.

Joh 15:16

(16)  You didn’t choose me, but I chose you. I have appointed you to go, to produce fruit that will last, and to ask the Father in my name to give you whatever you ask for.

Think of a time when, beyond a shadow of doubt, you experienced God’s love for you, personally, specifically, and in a way that only he and you knew its true significance in your life.

Reflective Questions:

How did you feel at the time?

How do you feel at this moment?

What do you need to say to God?
